Determine what Range Installation Style is Right For You
Not all kitchens are the same. The design and layout vary, and play an important part in which installation option you choose for your range. GE ranges have three installations options so you can find the best fit for your kitchen style. Understanding the differences between free-standing, slide-in and drop-in installations for GE ranges will help you make the best choice for your kitchen.
Free-Standing Ranges
This range type is the most common and the simplest to install. The majority of these ranges fit into standard 30-inch cabinet cutout widths, although a few are available in 27- and 24-inch widths. Free-standing ranges are finished on both sides, which means they can be installed with cabinetry on one side, both sides, or completely stand-alone. Most GE gas and electric free-standing range models include a backsplash. Typically, electric free-standing ranges have the burner and oven controls on the backsplash, while the gas models have the controls on the front of the range.

Slide-In Ranges
Slide-in range models fit into standard 30-inch cabinet cutouts like a free-standing range, but with a more custom built-in look. Unlike the free-standing ranges though, gas and electric slide-in ranges have no backsplash, which provides a more integrated appearance. Controls and panel display are on the front of these ranges.

Slide-In Fit Guarantee
Replace your old 30" free-standing range with a new 30" slide-in model. Our GE Appliances slide-in ranges are guaranteed for an exact fit to make replacement easy.
